Dr. Khan’s Journey
Dr. Khan’s medical journey began at Sarojini Naidu Medical College, Agra, where he completed his MBBS in 2013. During his early clinical years, he saw how illnesses of the brain and nerves could change not just the patient’s life, but the entire family’s routine, emotions and future. This drew him towards neurology.
He went on to complete his MD in General Medicine from GSVM Medical College, Kanpur in 2018, where he learned to look at the patient as a whole, understanding how different organs and diseases are connected. This broad foundation was important for him before focusing on the detailed and complex field of neurology.
His interest in the nervous system led him to pursue a DM in Neurology from King George’s Medical University (KGMU), Lucknow, completed in 2022. KGMU exposed him to a wide range of neurological conditions—from common problems like migraines and seizures to rare movement disorders and neuromuscular diseases. These years taught him the value of careful examination, step-by-step thinking and never taking shortcuts in diagnosis.

Experience in Teaching Hospitals and Clinical Practice
After completing his training, Dr. Khan chose to work in environments where learning and patient care go hand in hand. He served as a Senior Resident at GSVM Medical College, managing patients with both medical and neurological illnesses and working closely with senior faculty.
Later, as an Assistant Professor of Neurology at King George’s Medical University (2022–2024), he was involved in teaching postgraduate students, discussing difficult cases in academic meetings and caring for patients in wards and ICUs. This role helped him develop a thoughtful style of practice—checking details carefully, discussing options clearly and respecting differing points of view.
He then worked as a Consultant Neurologist at Career Medical College (2024–2025), gaining further exposure to a variety of patient profiles and healthcare needs.
In 2025, he began consulting as Consultant Neurologist at NeuroLogic Neurocare in Shahjahanpur, with a simple intention: to make specialist neurological care more accessible locally, so that not every patient has to travel to big cities for an informed opinion.
Areas of Interest and Conditions Treated
In his daily practice, Dr. Khan sees a wide range of neurological conditions affecting the brain, spine, nerves and muscles. He has a special interest in:
Movement and geriatric neurology, including Parkinson’s disease, tremors, slowness of movement, stiffness and walking difficulties that often affect older adults.
Neuromuscular disorders, such as medication-induced muscle weakness, where everyday medicines can sometimes silently affect muscle strength.
Progressive External Ophthalmoplegia (PEO) and related eye movement problems, which can cause difficulty in moving the eyes or drooping of the eyelids.
Scoliosis-related neurological issues, where changes in the spine may lead to nerve compression, pain, numbness or weakness.
Along with these, he also evaluates and manages commonly seen neurological symptoms such as chronic headaches and migraines, seizures, stroke and its after-effects, dizziness, balance problems, tingling and numbness, and long-standing nerve pain.
In every case, his focus is not only on “naming the disease,” but on understanding how it is affecting the person’s day-to-day life—walking, working, sleeping, thinking and relating to others—and then planning treatment accordingly.
Practical Care for Older Adults
As a Geriatric Neurologist, Dr. Khan spends much of his time with elderly patients and their families. Ageing often brings mixed concerns—forgetfulness, slower movements, repeated falls, sleep changes or personality changes—that can be confusing and frightening.
He approaches these situations with patience and respect. Rather than rushing to label everything as “old age,” he carefully checks for treatable causes like vitamin deficiencies, medicine side effects, mood problems or other illnesses. He understands that older patients often have multiple health issues and are already on many medicines, so he tries to keep treatment plans simple and safe.
Families frequently share their worries about how to care for their loved ones at home. Dr. Khan takes time to explain what to expect, what can improve, and what needs long-term support. His aim is to maintain the dignity, comfort and independence of elderly patients as much as possible, while easing the emotional burden on caregivers.
A Consultation Focused on Clarity and Comfort
Many people reach a neurologist after several visits to different doctors, a pile of reports and still no clear answer. Dr. Khan is mindful of this. In his consultations at NeuroLogic Neurocare, he tries to reduce confusion rather than add to it.
He begins by listening to the full story, allowing patients and families to speak without feeling rushed. He then performs a careful neurological examination, checking strength, balance, coordination, memory and other functions as needed. He reviews any old reports and scans that patients bring along, so that tests are not repeated unnecessarily.
When he explains the possible causes of symptoms, he uses simple language and encourages questions. If an investigation is needed, he explains why it is important and how it will influence treatment. If medicine is advised, he discusses its purpose, expected benefits and potential side effects. The goal is for the patient and family to leave the clinic with a clear idea of what is happening, what the next steps are and when they should return.
Staying Updated, Staying Grounded
Medicine, and especially neurology, keeps evolving. To stay current, Dr. Khan remains actively connected with professional bodies such as the Indian Medical Association (IMA), the Indian Academy of Neurology, the American Academy of Neurology (AAN) and the International Parkinson and Movement Disorder Society (MDS).
He has also received recognition in the form of an award for Advanced Management of Neurological Diseases in 2024. For him, such recognition is a reminder to keep learning and to use that knowledge thoughtfully for the benefit of his patients, rather than a reason to boast.
